I’m such a neurotic person that this song really is much more aspirational than it is based in any kind of reality. I wish I dealt with heartbreak this way - I wish I was more spontaneous and I wish I wasn’t so beholden to my emotions all the time. Up All Night is written from the perspective of someone I wish I was - and particularly someone I wished I was at the time of writing. I desperately wanted to be even ’85%’ over the person I had in mind while writing this track, rather than deep in the midst of grieving a dead relationship. But I’m so proud of this hysterical song - it’s euphoric, it’s wild, it’s uncontainable and the best part is I got to write it with two of my favourite people in the whole world, Alex Lahey and Gab Strum (Japanese Wallpaper).
